Kevin Durant Marks 10 Years With Nike Ahead of NBA Finals Run With The KD10
With Kevin Durant en route to the NBA Finals and potentially his first Championship ring with the Golden State Warriors, the Maryland born Small Forward has marked his 10th year as a Nike athlete with the release of the most immediately critically acclaimed shoe of his career – the KD10.
Once again partnering with Nike designer Leo Chang, the KD10 marks a decade with Nike and features what the brand are calling the best ever construction of Flyknit on a basketball shoe. Engineered for flexibility, breathability and support, Flyknit integration was important to Durant who has been in love with the revolutionary technology since being given a pair of Flyknit Racers at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Kevin Durant’s shoes have always been defining, with the KD6 breaking the trend of basketball shoes of the time by going low and in the KD10 the Olympic Gold medalist believes he and Chang have taken basketball shoe technology to another level, pointing to the use of Flyknit as something very special. The shoe’s unconventional lacing system has been designed to keep the foot snugly supported to the midsole. Keeping the Nike Air Zoom underfoot from the KD9, the shoe has been enhanced for durability and tuned for maximum impact cushioning.
The KD10 made its debut in Golden State Warriors’ epic comeback win against San Antonio Spurs on Sunday evening and will be launched in-store and online in White ‘The KD10 Still KD’ on 1 June.
