When we interviewed Dapz On The Maplast summer, he suggested he would go into hiding while he worked more on his hotly anticipated debut album DSAW. It appears that so much work got done that the album will have to wait a bit longer, as a new EP from the artist is coming before then.
Champion Settings was announced this week when DJ Target premiered Dapz’s new single ‘Mini Valet’ on BBC 1Xtra. Produced by Thomas Mellor, the track is very much a returning statement (if not an introduction to those new ears) as Dapz catches us up on his mindset and what has been going on since his last music, such as his sold out headline show in Birmingham. ‘Mini Valet’ was released today on iTunes and streaming platforms, with a music video on its way next month. Enjoy it below…
You might have heard, it’s possible that the news has hit your radar, there’s a chance that somebody in your circle has been talking about it, but Anthony Joshua (you know the guy) is fighting Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday night and there is actually insane pressure on him to win. Joshua has been RWD certified since before he went pro and we even made a film with him three years back (watch below), and his steady upflow of competitors have proven his status as the most exciting heavyweight for a generation, but this weekend is something else.
As an ambassador for Beats By Dre (they made him the custom headphones above specially for the fight), Anthony got a call from the man himself ahead of the fight and in taking the surprise Facetime, AJ must realise that his status and the value of this fight is unlike any he’s faced in his career so far. We know Wladimir Klitschko is no joke and we also know that the Klitschko era is the one our AJ is here to replace, but in fighting a genuine superstar with the tactical and physical attributes to truly test the Watford raised giant, there is a genuinely international focus on him for the first time.
Watch Anthony Joshua take the surprise Facetime from the good Doctor below.

Veteran grime DJ & producer Treble Clef created one of the best instrumentals of the last two years in ‘Trumpet Boom’, taken from his excellent Cake & Bread EP. As anticipation and ehtusiasm for the tune on radio sets seemed to kick on and on, Clef got on the case for an official vocal of the track. Now, more than a year after the instrumental first arrived in our lives, the ‘Trumpet Boom’ vocal is here and available to buy on vinyl or as digital download. It’s a strong lineup as Elf Kid, Big Zuu, PK and Jammz are assembled to spray mean 16s, with singer Ruby Confue on the hook.
