Combined Man City and Chelsea XI

Undoubtedly two of the best teams in the league, Man City and Chelsea go head to head tonight in what could ultimately decide the tittle. Here’s our perfect hybrid of the two teams as we look ahead to one of the biggest games of the season so far;
Cech gets the nod ahead of Joe Hart, who hasn’t had the best seasons so far. Cech has been consistent of late in the league, conceding just two goals in the last seven matches. Another clean sheet tonight would be almost unheard of at the Etihad but the big Czech shot-stopper is more than capable.
Zabaleta is one of City’s most consistent full backs and is another having a great season. The influential Argentine has been hard to drop giving him the edge over the likes of Chelsea’s fullbacks, who have all been heavily rotated.
JT is the only Chelsea man to grace the hybrid defence. His ever presence in the league this season has seen him back to his best when it looked like his career could be over last season. The Blues skipper will need to be at his best to stop Negredo tonight.
The big Belgian centre half is a rock at the back for City. Their influential captain will be up against Samuel Eto’o this evening and he won’t want the Cameroonian to repeat his match-winning performance against City’s cross town rivals.
The Serbian is another one of City’s fullbacks to pip the Chelsea ones to the hybrid team, including national teammate Branislav Ivanovic. His role tonight will be to keep Eden Hazard quiet and he certainly has a job on his hands.
Speaking of the Belgian, he strolls into this team. Despite the form of David Silva, Hazard has been Chelsea’s most influential player this season really coming into his stride under Jose Mourinho. He’ll have to be on form to breakdown a strong City defence especially after being frustrated against West Ham.
Arguably the best midfielder in the league, Toure is the driving force behind City’s success. His power is overwhelming, and adding freekicks to his impressive arsenal makes the Ivorian a scary prospect. The battle of strength against Nemanja Matic will be an interesting bout.
The Brazilian number 10 has become Jose Mourinho’s go to man this season, usurping Juan Mata completely. His 9 goals is bettered only by Hazard, but it’s his influence in Chelsea’s attacking trio that makes him a big threat.
Navas has been a revelation this season for City and is looking a bargain for around £15million. The Spaniard is no longer homesick and thoroughly enjoying his football in Manchester. 5 goals and 11 assists in total sees Navas as a real problem for Chelsea tonight.
The Beast has probably been the best signing of the season thus far. His 23 goals in 33 games is undeniably a fantastic achievement for a debut season and the big man has fast become a fan favourite at Eastlands.
Chelsea fans and defenders alike will be drawing a huge sigh of relief knowing Ageuro is out tonight but that doesn’t stop him getting in this side. The Argentine has been scoring for fun, averaging over a goal a game. City will miss him.
