Our boy Kevin Durant went and won his first NBA Championship last night when his Golden State Warriors beat the reigning Cleveland Cavaliers 120-129 in Oakland, ending the series 4-1. To mark the win, Nike produced a film calling into question every one of the “debates” about the DMV born superstar, from him being soft, to having no defensive game, to being too introverted, to having no confidence, to failing his teammates in Oklahoma City (actually, that one didn’t really come up), to joining the Golden State Warriors in controversial fashion last year.

Ending the series as the Finals MVP (it had to go to a player on the winning team, cough, LeBron), Durant’s box score in Game 5 read 39 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, while his finals stat sheet looked similarly glowed up with 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists.

Watch Kevin Durant end the debate in Nike’s specially made film below and perhaps enjoy quite how relieved Nike must be in having the best player on the best team in the NBA two years in a row, especially when it appeared that they would never have that pleasure in the Bay under the wing of a certain Steph Curry.
