Dizzee Rascal pays tribute to pirate radio in nostalgic ‘Quality’ video

Following the release of last year’s Don’t Gas Me EP, Dizzee Rascal re-emerges with a visual for ‘Quality’.

The nostalgic track – and its Joel Spencer directed video, which was shot at Chrisp Street on the Lansbury estate in Poplar – sees Dizzee returning to the tower blocks for a trip down memory lane to his pirate radio days.

‘Quality’ samples the Nookie’s classic 1992 hardcore track ‘The Sound Of Music’, which was a significant influence on Dizzee growing up. “Sampling ‘The Sound of Music’ by Nookie on ‘Quality’ was really special for me,” he says. “It was one of my favourite songs as a child, and one of the songs that introduced me to hardcore and drum n bass music as well as pirate radio culture, which has been a major influence in my career. I still love making beats and I’m glad I got the blessing to remake this classic.”
