You might remember KEYAH/BLU from her appearance on Denzel Himself‘s Baphomet Jones EP and its accompanying COLORS session, and you’d therefore be pleased the South Londoner is back with a debut single.

‘Sweet’ sees KEYAH/BLU delivering cool and collected bars about sneaking out of her house to hook up with her boyfriend over a sparse beat courtesy of Denzel Himself. The track comes accompanied by a self-directed accompanying visual, featuring a number of surreal scenes drawn straight from her subconscious.

“For the video, originally all I had was this image of 7 ninjas on a beach floating around in my head, like the 7 levels of my consciousness,” she says. “I wanted to focus on feelings that weren’t necessarily touched upon in the song. The kidnapping has a lot of different meanings. I’m not a psycho girlfriend, I just wanted to show a side of me that the lyrics didn’t.”

The track will appear on House Anxiety‘s forthcoming compilation A Decade Of Anxiety.
