We’re waiting on the next generation of Xbox and PlayStation [let’s be honest, that’s what we mean when we say next generation], Nintendo have stolen a march with their new console, the Wii U set to hit shelves in North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia before the end of the year. The Wii U was announced in the summer [Nintendo Announce Next Console, Wii U].

Originally slated for high definition, with a controller designed like a tablet, featuring a 6.2 inch screen and stylus, the Wii U is also expected to be backward compatible with most Wii games and hardware. The new controller is also expected to feature rumble, trigger buttons, bumper buttons, a touch screen, microphone, speakers, an accelerometer and a built-in HD camera.
