slowthai has been steadily building his following over the past few years with a consistent string of singles and EPs, but how the Northampton rapper is ready to take things to the next level, announcing his long-anticipated debut album Nothing Great About Britain, which is set for release on 17th May.

“It’s basically my experience of growing up; of having a family that were immigrants originally, of the stories they’ve told me, of my childhood and how I’ve lived my life,” slowthai says of the album. “Through it, I’ve gone on a journey of explaining how everything I was chasing to make me feel good only clouded my judgement. And it took me going through a ton of shit to realise that none of these things – no money, no drugs, no fake relationships – is gonna make me happy, or make me a good person.”

Production on the album is headed up by regular collaborator Kwes Darko, with additional work from Slaves and Mura Masa. The tracklist also reveals that Skepta and Jaykae will make guest appearances on the LP.

Along with the news, slowthai has also shared it’s instantly iconic cover art (above) and a brand new single ‘Gorgeous’ which you can listen to below, and support via your preferred streaming services.
