For the past few years, Top Dawg Ent have been at the ahead of the pack when it comes to the most anticipated new rap releases. Admittedly, not every album has had the gargantuan success of a To Pimp A Butterfly, but the whole label is damn near flawless when it comes to consistency. After dropping outstanding albums from Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock last year, Top Dawg took to Instagram to share a shot of a whiteboard which reveals some details about their 2016 plans.

The board suggests that albums from ScHoolboy Q, SZA and Isiah Rashad are almost complete, but suggests that the label do plan to release albums from Ab-Soul, Kendrick and Jay Rock before the year is out. It also announces that two more artists have been signed to the label, although their names are yet to become public knowledge.

Shit about to get nasty real soon… I told y'all I got y'all in 2016 #TDE

After getting people talking with the whiteboard post, Top Dawg hit up Instagram again to announce that the first project of the year will be dropping real soon – possibly within the next 24 hours, certainly before the end of the week. Are ScHoolboy Q‘s sample clearance issues resolved? Might that J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar tape come flying in out of left-field? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
